Dr Numsen marks 10 years of Daily Online High School Number Sense tests.

Ten years ago, while teaching high school, I had a student with a dedicated period for studying for UIL contests. Working on Number Sense and Mathematics for one and a half hours every other day, he soon ran out of practice materials. I resorted to writing materials for him. This was time-consuming to say the least. It was then that I decided there must be other coaches like me who needed resources to provide new materials for their students at reasonable prices. Plus, the advantages to having new tests written during the spring competition season were immediately noticed--these new materials could be flexible and could address new problem types as the A and B tests were released and studied. In addition, coaches were provided with an easy solution to coaching Number Sense. I needed an efficient way to distribute the tests. Thanks to the Internet boom of the late 90s, getting the tests to sponsors was a cinch! And thus, the Daily Online High School Number Sense Tests were born! And ten years later, I am still here writing these Daily tests.

Dr Numsen and the DONST has changed over the past decade, but the philosophy is still the same--provide sponsors will excellent resources to inspire students to greatness. The past ten years have been great and I look forward to writing these tests for another ten years!
